Fonroche Lighting sells 15,000 solar streetlights to Benin
Yet another success for Fonroche Lighting in West Africa
2019 has got off to a great start for Fonroche Lighting. Following a major contract to install 50,000 solar streetlights in Senegal, the French company has been awarded another new contract in Benin to install 15,000 off-grid public streetlights along the roads of some 10 towns over the next two years – sealing Fonroche’s position as a global leader in solar lighting.
From French SME to world leader in public solar lighting
Based in the town of Roquefort, southwest France, Fonroche Lighting delivered more than 800 solar projects worldwide in 2018, worth a total of €125 million. Key contracts included the Calais motorway junction, a Colombian viaduct, a 20 km stretch of road through the Kuwaiti desert, and 50,000 solar streetlights in Senegal. Fonroche Managing Director, Laurent Lubrano, says: “We’ve got other major projects in the pipeline in Africa, which remains by far our biggest market”.
