In Jeuxey, in the Vosges region, the Carrefour Group is taking another step forward in its energy transition strategy. The hypermarket’s parking lot is now equipped with 63 autonomous solar streetlights, using photovoltaic panels for energy conversion and delivering lighting power adapted to each area.

This fast, easy, cable-free installation illustrates an innovative and sustainable solution for solar public lighting, even in remote areas.

Each solar streetlight, manufactured in Agen by Fonroche Lighting, offers high-performance, optimized LED lighting and reduced maintenance, ensuring full autonomy. Dependence on the sun is maximized thanks to high-quality solar panels, providing efficient and environmentally friendly solar lighting while limiting light pollution.

Thanks to this project, Carrefour Jeuxey is saving energy, reducing its electricity consumption, and contributing to a lower carbon footprint, while offering customers safe and comfortable outdoor lighting.

A project serving the energy transition

As part of the objectives of the National Low-Carbon Strategy (SNBC) to reduce CO₂ emissions, solar public lighting represents an immediate lever for the tertiary sector.

We have rethought our lighting operations in line with environmental challenges,” says Pierre-Olivier Fabing, Head of Real Estate Operations at Carrefour Property. With 0 cabling, 0 trenching, and 0 direct emissions, the project embodies the union of lighting efficiency, customer comfort, and long-term energy sobriety. Investing in these solar streetlights represents an innovative solution for a modern and sustainable infrastructure.

A 100% solar, efficient, and connected technology

The installations are monitored via Fonroche Connect, the monitoring application developed by Fonroche, enabling real-time supervision of the solar streetlights, adjustment of lighting profiles, and remote diagnostics, while ensuring the reliability of the autonomous system.

Towards a more sustainable business model

The Carrefour Jeuxey initiative perfectly illustrates the advantages of solar public lighting:

  • Significant energy savings
  • Long-term reduction of operating costs and initial expenses
  • Contribution to lowering the carbon footprint
  • Delivery of high-performance, safe, and environmentally friendly LED lighting

The future of lighting is already here: sustainable, autonomous, connected, and adapted to local authorities thanks to this innovative smart urban lantern solution.
