In 2021, the municipality of Thizy-les-Bourgs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region launched an autonomous solar street lighting project to enhance its public spaces. This sustainable, high-performance solution addresses the main challenges local authorities face today: reducing energy consumption, providing durable infrastructure, enabling rapid installation, and ensuring high-quality urban environments.

Installed in the central square parking lot, throughout the town center, and along streets and walkways, the solar streetlights blend naturally into the surroundings while preserving the city’s character. Each lamp operates via a solar panel paired with intelligent lighting management, allowing immediate activation and reliable performance over time.

Guiding, structuring, and securing movement

Beyond their functional role, the solar streetlights help organize and shape urban space. They guide pedestrians and vehicles, define pathways, and highlight key areas, whether along streets, walkways, or central public spaces.

A long-lasting solution for the community

Built to last, this project relies on robust, reliable equipment designed to meet the demands of outdoor lighting. Its durability and ease of use make it particularly suitable for local authorities investing in long-lasting infrastructure while keeping daily management straightforward.

The benefits of solar energy are clearly demonstrated through continuous service, efficient use of resources, and adaptability to each location, all within a responsible approach aligned with local development priorities.

This project, carried out in partnership with Fonroche Lighting, demonstrates how solar public lighting goes beyond technical performance to become a strategic asset for urban planning.

In Thizy-les-Bourgs, solar lighting supports daily activities, structures the urban environment, and plays a lasting role in the community’s well-being.
